A phased, 20 hectare housing development constructed on a Georgian munitions dump site adjacent to the Southampton Water. Grade 1 listed buildings and a grid of Grade 2 listed brick and earth blast walls form a strong structure within which part of the new housing is incorporated.
The Landscape Practice completed a comprehensive site appraisal and tree survey, a landscape planning strategy which led to a masterplan, detailed hard and soft landscape design and construction administration throughout an extended build process. Extensive planning and conservation negotiations were an integral part of the planning approval. The Landscape Practice has also prepared a comprehensive landscape management plan for the ongoing care of the site. DAILY MAIL GREENLEAF HOUSING AWARDS were awarded to Phase 1 in 1996 and to Phase 2 in 2005. |
