A garden in a rural location where the house overlooks farmland owned by the client’s estate. The design is more formal around the house with smaller scale planting mixes and massing for a more intimate feel. Further from the house, the scale increases; the massing and style of planting is more fluid allowing the garden to fade and melt into the surrounding countryside. Path vistas extend views and a ha-ha allows seamless views expanding the perceived visual limits of the garden areas. The result provides a comfortable setting for the existing building and a garden of interest and variety. |
