The design of this garden reflects the very clean lines of the timber and glass Huf Haus design and repeats the line of the building in a series of parallel lines through the garden – patterned granite paving, a formal water filled canal, garden division screen and timber walkways.
The need to access the rear garden has been achieved with a sweeping timber decked walkway, incorporating subtle lighting. A waterfall issues at the head of the canal from beneath the decking. The garden extends to a local wildlife sanctuary at the bottom of the garden and the transition from the hard, clean formal lines of the garden around the house loosens to a wetland garden with willows and meandering timber walkway. A prominent stairway from first floor living space extends through the garden as a dark granite bridge and stepping stones, focussing on a glistening, foaming water fountain. |
