The Landscape Practice was appointed to identify the relative landscape sensitivity of the AONB area (1000 square kilometres). The study identifies and evaluates the significant landscape characteristics and ascertains the inherent fragility or robustness of each landscape character area. The study alerts practitioners about possible threats to the landscape character through land use change and also particular areas of vulnerability. The study provides a support document for the delivery of landscape benefits identifying the areas of most need for action and support.
