A feasibility study for improvements to the setting of St James' church. Currently the churchyard is suffering from uncontrolled casual parking leading to ground compaction and erosion and spoiling the setting of this fine church. The church is located within an elegant, largely Georgian, group of buildings. The Landscape Practice were commissioned to look at options for improvement of the church yard incorporating parking where feasible. Options developed by the Landscape Practice included looking at the broader setting of the church in its urban context including one option to remove the boundary walls and incorporate the church as the focus within an elegant new urban square. |
