Fordington is an historic part of the Dorset County Town of Dorchester through which the County Council planned to introduce a highway traffic calming scheme.

Working for the District Council, The Landscape Practice provided design advice for the section through the Green to ensure sympathetic treatment and enhancement of the Conservation Area space. The introduction of new traffic measures is used as an advantage to enhance existing spaces and introduce improvements for pedestrian areas. Masterplanning for public consultation led to detailed design and subsequently implementation administration in conjunction with highway engineers. Natural materials including local Purbeck stone have been used to provide a simple, robust solution.
