West Bay is a small but popular holiday destination town situated on the Dorset coastline. New coastal defences providing deep water moorings and improved marine access prompted the need for a comprehensive review of the urban structure and appearance of West Bay.

Working with West Dorset District Council and Buro Happold highway engineers, The Landscape Practice has produced a comprehensive large scale masterplan which provides for an enhanced urban fabric whilst retaining the unique features and character of the town. The urban design recognises the importance of West Bay within the newly designated Jurassic Heritage Coastline. West Bay is popular with visitors and careful consideration has been given to the interaction of traffic and pedestrians.
